Twitter Reacts To Lil B’s (Based God) NYU Speech

base god speech at nyu

Earlier this month at NYU, Lil B (Based God) finally delivered his much talked about, very rare speech. For those of you who don’t know Lil B, he is a “rapper” (kinda). Over the last couple years he (Based God) has received a lot of internet attention for his vulgar and uncoordinated rapping style (which he has dubbed “based”).

He himself attributes much of his success to the internet, creating over 100 myspaces to help him along, and creating dozens of videos for each of his unorthodox songs. Lil B’s has used Twitter, YouTube and Tumblr to keep in constant touch with his fans. Because of his online activity, he has a growing and incredibly loyal fanbase.

If you follow B on Twitter, you probably should have known exactly what to expect.

But for those of you who aren’t as familiar with Based God you might be confused about what he might be giving a speech about.

He talks generally talks about love, positivity, insects, being happy, running for president. You know pretty much anything on his mind. You can listen to the speech below or read the whole thing at Fader.

“This is about me spreading my love to y’all. This is about saying how much I love you guys. How much I love being alive. How much I love human beings. How lucky we are to have this structure. Who built this? Tell me who built this building, please. Just going through New York you see just, wow, you have so much beautiful architecture. It’s so rich. When I look at the buildings, I’m like, dude, everybody is lucky. This might not be here forever. Anything could happen. Take heed, you guys are lucky you’re alive. Really, take heed. Can I hear you say, I’m lucky I’m alive! No, really, please, can you feel it? I’m lucky I’m alive!” – Lil B

  1. Every person is entitled to its own opinion and own views. If most of people do not agree somebody’s views, it does not mean that these views are not correct. They are simply unique, inherent to this person. Your speech is very nice, I like it!

  2. As a social media activist, I would like to say that is a well-researched post about nyu speech as well as it’s impressive to read because the info you provide in this post is not available on the internet.
