State of the Union 2012 (Abridged)

Last night President Barack Obama gave his State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress. For those college students who live on the college student schedule and needs only the quick abridged version then you’ve come to the right place.

So here’s what you need to know:

General Motors is doing well

President Obama recently signed Trade Agreements to boost jobs

Jobs in Science and Technology are plenty

There is an obvious obstacle for laid off workers looking for new jobs

President Obama begins to state the importance of an education

College students are gathering more debt by going to school than for paying for it

There is a correlation between not having an education and being unemployed

President Obama touted increased numbers of Border Patrol Agents

President Obama begins to layout incentives for homeowners

President Obama explains his plans for Wall Street Reform

President Obama is running for re-election this year and has a lot on his plate. This State of the Union address not only combined President Obama’s recent success as President but also laid out his platform for re-election.

He also made a joke about spilled milk that fell flat, but earlier this month President Obama won his second (his first being for his audio book memoirs) Grammy for his rendition of Al Green:
